Upload a simple home-made video to your web page pitching your cause, and by utilizing the built-in blogging feature, email, social-network sharing, and word-of-mouth, invite everyone you know to visit your cause’s web page and participate in your Video Web-A-Thon Event.
Raise money & awareness in 4 ways
Pledging works similar to other “thon” type events such as walk-a-thons, bowl-a-thons, etc., where money is pledged to support a cause. In a Web-A-Thon Event pledgers sign up to pledge a certain amount of money per view your video receives, (i.e., 50 cents per view) and they set a maximum amount that fits their budget. Your goal is to get as many people as possible to view your video.

The role of followers is to support your cause and encourage others in their network to visit your web page and view your cause’s video as well.
It is absolutely free to sign up as a follower. By signing up to be a follower, supporters unable to donate have an opportunity to participate by spreading awareness which will also increase your video view count.

Donors simply click ‘Donate’ on your web page and will be directed to donate by credit card using the trusted PayPal system.

Raise even more money for your cause by having local businesses sponsor you. Ask businesses in your town to sponsor your cause by donating and you can showcase their business card on your sponsor wall.
StreamThatCause.com charges a $5 fee for you to upload sponsor’s info to your webpage Sponsor Wall and you keep the rest of their donation.
Sponsors can make their donation online by clicking ‘donate’ on your cause page. You are responsible for uploading your sponsors info to your webpage sponsor wall. Simple instructions are provided on your webpage. You can even upload their logo! You will be prompted to pay $5 by credit card during your uploading process for each sponsor you put on your sponsor wall.

Event Lead-In
During registration, you will be given the option to choose when you want your cause’s Video Web-A-Thon Event to officially launch. You can choose to launch your video and start your Web-A-Thon immediately, or at any time up to 2 weeks from registration.
Once you register and create your webpage it will be accessible to sign up pledgers, donors, followers, and sponsors — but, your actual Web-A-Thon Event will not begin until the date and time you have chosen during registration. This gives you time to sign up pledgers on your cause’s web page and create your video.
Web-A-Thon Event
Once your cause’s Web-A-Thon Event officially launches, your video view counter will be active for exactly two weeks, (336 hours), unless you chose to extend your event.
Event Wrap-Up
Your web page will be accessible for two weeks after your Web-A-Thon Event has ended. This gives you time to access your pledger list in order to calculate their total amounts due and notify your pledgers of final results and payment instructions.
Two weeks after your Web-A-Thon ends, your page will no longer be accessible.
Remember... Whether you choose to host a two week Web-A-Thon Event or extend it, you have up to two weeks to officially launch your event, and you have two weeks following your Web-A-Thon Event to finalize business and collect your pledges.
Video Pledges
While donors, followers and sponsors may sign up and donate at any time before or during your cause’s event, pledgers MUST be signed up prior to the official start time. Since pledgers are pledging based on video views, they cannot sign up as a pledger once the video view counter has started.
Video Pledges
StreamThatCause.com does not contact pledgers or send out statements for you. It is your responsibility after your Web-A-Thon Event has ended to direct pledgers to your web page to make their donation via credit card by clicking ‘Donate’.
Pledger Payments
StreamThatCause.com does not have access to money that you raise. All money raised goes directly to your cause’s PayPal account that you will be prompted to set up during registration. (PayPal charges apply, visit their site for fee details).
StreamThatCause.com does not take a percentage of any money raised.
